As a resident of Ward 6 in Richmond Hill and as a former President and Chair of Professional Engineers Ontario, I have had the opportunity to observe and appreciate effective leadership in both the public and professional sectors. Mayor David West has consistently demonstrated the qualities that strong municipal leadership requires: integrity, sound judgment, fiscal responsibility, and a genuine commitment to serving the community.
During his tenure on Council and as Mayor, David West has helped guide Richmond Hill through significant growth and change while maintaining a focus on responsible governance, community engagement, and long-term planning. He has earned a reputation for listening to residents, fostering collaboration among Council members, and building consensus on complex issues in the best interests of the city. His thoughtful and balanced leadership has contributed to Richmond Hill’s continued success as a vibrant and desirable place to live, work, and raise a family.
