I have had the privilege of knowing and working with David West for more than 30 years — first as an active community volunteer, and later through our years serving together on Council. During the three terms we served together, while he was a local councillor and I was Deputy Mayor, I saw firsthand his dedication, steady leadership, and results-driven approach. Over the past 13 years, he has helped move our City forward with experience, accountability, and deep respect for the people he serves. What has always stood out most to me is his honesty and integrity. He leads with principle, listens with respect, and works hard to do what is right. He also brings a calm, patient demeanour to the table; when discussions become challenging, he has a way of calming the situation and keeping Council focused, respectful, and rational. For these reasons, I am pleased to support his re-election as Mayor.
